From ovals to eggs

So my felt shapes turned into: felt easter eggs!
I got the idea from lusaorganics.typepad.com
And since I have a GINORMOUS felt stash, I thought i'd give it a try. The kids were even eager to try sewing when they saw me working.
Now we have lovely little eggs for hunting, gifting, and decorating.
And the technique is so easy & adaptable...
I forsee more felt pockets in our future.

Friday morning

I watched the PBS series Craft in America, and cut stuff out of felt.
I woke up this morning, full of malaise. I didn't feel up to getting out of bed, getting the kids ready for school, and doing chores. I got up anyway, because you have to do the job that's in front of you.
I have a full, fun-packed weekend ahead. I am trying to be enthusiastic about that, but I think maybe I just need a low-key day to recharge.
I believe that part of my blah can be attributed to the weather. We had two gorgeous days of 60 degree weather with sun and now we have a week of low 50's and rain to look forward to. I have already informed the weatherman that if it snows this weekend I am quitting this state. I can't take anymore winter!
I also started some seeds. I usually don't do well growing things indoors, so wish me luck.

Blue bird

No, really.
This is a bluebird. Found in the western U.S.
I believe this picture is from Montana.

Green Bird

Back to art-a-day!
This is a green honeycreeper.
